hardwood floor

Yesterday my husband and I finally finished preparing to install a new hardwood floor in our dining room. It is just a portion of a large project that will ultimately result in the replacement of the floors in our kitchen and family rooms as well. We ultimately decided on Brazilian cherry, which we think is a beautiful wood. We especially like the way that it darkens and sometimes reddens over time with exposure to sunlight. Just today we will be making a trip to a local flooring store to pick up the remainder of the wood for our family room. Then we will work on leveling our kitchen and starting to actually install the floor in our dining room. No doubt that it will be a very tiring and intense process, but I am convinced that it will be well worth it in the end. We laid out some of the wood for the dining room on yesterday and I was very excited to see how beautiful it looked. I will keep you posted on our progress.
